She is also the president of Halton Region Chinese Canadian Association (HRCCA). She started out as a volunteer. Her passion to help and her compassion for others continued to grow which led to the current establishment of The Healthy Minds to further promote and improve mental health.

Her inspiration to establish The Healthy Minds was from the suicide of a single mother. From a small fundraising event that started as a garage sale, Liza Wu expanded the venue to a school auditorium which even reached an international audience with her social platforms.

In 2019, she was recognized by the Premier of Ontario (Doug Ford) for her contributions to the province.
